I hope, like, half of you just squealed in ecstasy. To the other half, Snatch is another movie that I couldn't live without. The first time I watched this, I was a young kid and I thought this was going to be another run-of-the-mill heist movie. It's not. Snatch is in a league of its' own in terms of how much you're going to piss yourself with laughter. Pull up Snatch on your computer, and watch in awe as one of the greatest and funniest stories unfolds in front of you.
This was BY FAR Jason Statham's greatest performance, and the reason is because he wasn't playing some super-badass hitman or whatever, he was just a man (or more specifically, boxing promoter). With mob boss Brick-Top (Alan Ford) at his heels throughout the movie, you watch as Turkish (Jason Statham) developes as a person as each wild punch is thrown, whether in the ring or in his life (ha, boxing jokes). Also, his voiceover is hilarious.
There are so many stories in Snatch, but the awesome thing is that the stories aren't hard to follow. Even though you jump between them a lot, you never lose sight of each persons' timeline, and none of the stories are stupid or superfluous. Also, when the stories sometimes come together, it becomes even better, seeing how the characters interact with each other and how their actions drive the plot.
I'm not going to spoil any of the movie, so go watch it. Seriously, it's a great movie, and definitely one to add to your collection. Or I guess your cyber-collection, since nobody really buys DVD's anymore.
Cheers,
