Wes Anderson has made so many great movies in the past, and most likely all of them will end up in the Must-Watch Series, but none have touched my heart like The Grand Budapest Hotel. It has all of my favorite actors at their best (Ralph Fiennes, Adrian Brody, Willem Dafoe, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, SO MANY AWESOME ACTORS), the settings are picturesque and beautiful, and the story is so good I still watch it if I'm on a plane or going somewhere because no matter how monotonous the journey, The Grand Budapest Hotel will always lift my spirits.

The first thing I love about The Grand Budapest Hotel is the performances, by EACH AND EVERY CHARACTER. Seriously, it's like every background character has a story of their own, and this isn't just a theme in The Grand Budapest. Wes Anderson always seems to write a story about every character for all his movies, no matter how small a role they play, and in the end it pays off. No longer is there just a group of mindless extras milling about in the background. In Grand Budapest, a million stories are happening at the same time, but we are focusing on the story of Zero and M. Gustave, and that's what makes the performances so amazing. There aren't any mindless interactions. Also, every actor played their roll brilliantly, to the point where you would forget you were watching Ralph Fiennes but instead you were watching M. Gustave. Well done all around.

The second thing I love is the scenery. Every shot is like a work of art. The colors are so vivid, the buildings are so stylized and the landscapes are so beautiful you can't help but enjoy it as you are taken around the picturesque landscapes of Zubrowka by the two most likeable characters in all of film history.

The last thing I'm going to gush about is the humor. MY GOD this movie was hilarious. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but by far the little things in this movie make it so enjoyable you'll never stop rewatching it just so you can make sure you've heard every joke.

Tip of the cap to you, Wes Anderson. Keep making the movies you make, I'll always buy tickets to your movies.

Cheers,
